Drawing creative minds from industry leaders such as Patagonia, Marmot and Nike, Nau 1.0 was an ambitious launch. I was lucky to be contracted to create a modern, tech and sustainable voice for Nau's ecom and kiosk copy based on design interviews with DD's Peter Kallen and Mark Galbraith.

PERFORMANCE
Our lightweight 2.5-layer shell delivers absolute (hard) protection from the worst weather. Completely wind- and waterproof with DWR treated fabric surface for water repellency. Breathable for comfort during exertion. Excellent weight-to-compressibility ratio makes this go-to piece ideal for backpacking and travel.
SUSTAINABILITY
With an eye on the full circle, this jacket uses discarded plastic and industrial waste recycled, via the Eco Circle™ process, into high-performance fabrics. And, at the end of its days it can be put back in to the closed loop system to create entirely new fabrics.
Breaking away flashbacks and an urge to track stand are the expected side effects of sporting this velo-inspired Henley top. The shirt blends fine New Zealand merino wool with a retro flavored style.
PERFORMANCE
Whether sporting city slicks or weekend fatties, merino keeps skin regulated and wicks sweat easily, even in shifting condition or at uneven cadence. The five-button design vents easily during bike lane commutes, is quick to dry and resists odor. Its trim fit layers cleanly when weather or setting call for it.
SUSTAINABILITY
The durable, superfine merino wool used in this shirt comes from New Zealand through the Zque program. This fiber source ensures that the wellbeing of the animals and the environment surrounding the wool’s production are the foremost priority.
When exposed to swirling external factors such as weather, wind and grime, this stretch-woven touring pant is blissfully in its element.
PERFORMANCE
Honed for remote bowl days that run both hot and cold, the soft-shell fabric breathes comfortably while still shedding moisture and enabling skintrack stretch. Zip pockets keep random trinkets, knick-knacks or false idols stowed securely on pitch or piste.
SUSTAINABILITY
Guides view excess as a common trap, and this multi-use pant proves the enlightened wisdom of owning less gear. As a karmic bonus, oil company executives saw minimal profit from this textile’s production, as 82% of the fibers are spun from post-consumer and post-industrial material.
Falling hard for this one striking shell is a forgivable sin. Its blend of sensual, alluring interior warmth and sleek exterior belies its natural ability to excel when the lines get steep.
PERFORMANCE
The key is stretch soft-shell fabric, which enables uninhibited motion and blocks the nastiest of winds. Faux-fur fleece on the inside simply adds the right amount of luscious winter warmth.
SUSTAINABILITY
Instead of feeling guilty, know that the post-consumer and post-industrial polyester waste created in recycled material for furry fleece, mesh linings and stretch shell fabric of this piece. Along with requiring no new oil, the versatility of this design replaces several specialized shells with one purchase.
“A continuously warm embrace without looking like a lumberjack,” is how our designer describes the feeling of sporting this fashionably lofted shirt in your local hood, in the base village or way out in the sticks.
PERFORMANCE
Light, lofty, warm and supple all describe this mix of high-grade down and feathery denier shel fabric. Visibly variegated baffling feels fresher than a standard puff pattern, while grapefruit-sized compaction makes it easily crammable into your favorite messenger bag.
SUSTAINBILITY
Like all plumage, down is renewable. Carrying that natural thinking forward, the 850-fill variety we use represents a more responsible core-warming strategy. As is our custom, 100% recycled polyester ripstop keeps the fill contained.
