When the crew at The Dirtbag Diaries asked us to write up a personally reflective piece about fatherhood, skiing and injury on the bunny hill, we jumped at the chance. After a career spent following around professional guides and athletes, the story that developed here was not only one about introducing my daughter to my mountain culture and community—but also a retrospective on the joy and pain of making your personal passion your life’s work. The podcasted piece struck a nerve with many in our community and industry, so much so that is was picked up and published by the Outside podcast and has continued to resonate with dads and daughters alike.
